StoaHub Ballot Push #1 - Set Tournament Settings
Go to Admin-Tournament Setup-Settings
For Debate, click on "Debate".
Click on "Judging".
This is where you will set the judging parameters.
Prelim Judges Per Section - Should be 1.
Elim Judges Per Section - Should be 3. Tab can adjust this number for each outround as needed.
Assign Judges By Default - If you want the computer to auto assign judges based on the rounds judges signed up for, you would check this box. You also need to communicate that with tab as they will have a setting to auto assign judges when they pair the round.
REGARDING THE WORD "PENALTY". In order to filter out judges, we assign "penalty" scores based on the following criteria. This doesn't prevent a judge from being able to be assigned a ballot. It simply puts them towards the bottom of the list of eligible judges. There isn't really a strict rule on what the penalty number can be. Whether you choose 100 or 1000, it's going to put the judge towards the bottom. A penalty also displays a warning when you're pushing ballots.
Judge Event Again Penalty - For Debate, leave this at zero since a judge can judge the same debate event multiple times.
Same Club Penalty - Judging - This would add a score to indicate the students are in the same club as the judge.
Same Family Penalty - Judging - This would add a score to indicate the students are in the same family as the judge and is most likely related.
Judge Entry Seen Before Penalty - This would add a score to indicate the judge has already judged a team in this matchup.
Judge Constraint Penalty - If a judge marked a student as a conflict, this would show up under this penalty.
Judge State Penalty - You would use this if you're trying to prevent judges from judging students/teams in their own state.
For Speech, click on "Speech" and then "Judging". The only difference would be prelim judges per section. The default is 3, but tab can change that per round when they section the event.
Once you've updated your settings, click the green "Update" at the bottom.
To add people to your ballot push team, go to Admin-Setup-Access and then Add New.
Type in the name of the team member and they should auto populate as long as they have a StoaHub account. Check the boxes that are applicable in Ballot Push and click "Update".
To give push access to your ballot push staff on a round by round basis, click on Admin-Ballot Push-Access
This will show who is a lead and who is a staff member. Only leads can provide access. To assign rounds, click on the notepad icon.
Add the rounds you want that person to have access to and click "Update" on the bottom.
You'll then see the red buttons turned green.
Repeat for you staff.
Make sure the judge goals/caps are up to date for each round.
Go to Admin-Setup-Tournament Setup-Schedule
Click on "Judging Caps/Goals". Here is where you set your limits for each judge category so that you don't have too many judges signing up for your schedule block.
